LGBT history month is

LGBT history month is a massively important innovation in schools. The impact of celebrating LGBT history cannot be underestimated and I find it exciting how much things have moved on in this area since I started teaching, many moons ago.

So, the time is now (February) and the resources are here, if you have not had time to put anything together yourself. There are posters you can display along with a research lesson which could be used in Art, PSHCE or even tutor time if you have long enough sessions.

The 10 brilliant artists featured on the posters are:

  • Frida Kahlo
  • David Hockney
  • Anya Gallaccio
  • Keith Haring
  • Ellsworth Kelly
  • Marlow Moss
  • Cy Twonbly
  • Andy Warhol
  • Isaac Julien
  • Hannah Hoch

…all great artists to have gracing your classroom walls at any time of the year!
