Easter Egg Art and Maths lesson: spring themed decorated egg net! A great one-off lesson to celebrate spring-time and get crafty at Easter.

A full lesson powerpoint gives step-by-step instructions and makes fun links to art and maths. Students will love this activity which takes focus but generates fantastic easter-themed results.

You will need to photocopy the template onto card for each student (you can use paper rather than card, though the resulting egg is a little more delicate). There are image sheets which can be handed out as inspiration for the drawn decorations at the end of the powerpoint. The only other materials required are biros, glue sticks, scissors and a couple of rolls of tape.

If you are feeling generous you could bring in mini-eggs to put in the eggs that they create!

The lessons can be done quickly (skip the decoration stage if necessary) in one hour, or can be stretched over two one hour sessions (with more attention to the drawing stage).

{thank you to the brilliant paper engineer, Rob Ives – www.robives.com – for the use of the egg net template}

This resources is most appropriate to ages 11+ due to the fiddly cutting and sticking to make the paper egg
